Cabinet Discusses Key Developments in Weekly Meeting

Doha: HE Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani chaired the Cabinet's regular meeting at the Amiri Diwan.

According to Qatar News Agency, HE Minister of Justice and Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs Ibrahim bin Ali Al Mohannadi conveyed that the meeting commenced with the Cabinet commending the successful opening ceremony of the FIFA Arab Cup Qatar 2025. Inaugurated under the patronage of HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani, the ceremony highlighted the authenticity and rich heritage of the Arab nation, promoting the ideals of solidarity and cooperation among Arab peoples.

The Cabinet extended a warm welcome to the heads of delegations from Arab countries, participating teams, and guests of the tournament, marking it as a significant milestone in Qatar's sporting achievements. Additionally, the Cabinet lauded the new corporate identity and strategy of the General Retirement and Social Insurance Authority (GRSIA), which aligns with Qatar National Vision 2030 by enhancing insurance protection for the nation's development.

During the meeting, the Cabinet reviewed various agenda items, including the Shura Council's approval of the draft general budget for the fiscal year 2026. The Cabinet also approved a draft decision to extend the compliance deadline for district cooling services under Law No. 19 of 2024.

Further, the Cabinet endorsed several international agreements and memorandums of understanding, encompassing areas such as scientific cooperation with Iraq, investment protection with Uruguay, agricultural collaboration with Portugal, and cultural exchanges with China. The Cabinet also approved executive programs for sports and youth cooperation with Algeria.

Concluding the session, the Cabinet assessed reports on the National Cyber Training Program, participation in the 35th Meeting of the GCC Ministers of Justice, and involvement in the UN Road Safety Fund and Global Ministerial Conference on Road Safety, making decisions as deemed appropriate.
