Doha: HE Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani chaired the Cabinet's regular meeting on Wednesday morning at the Amiri Diwan. The Cabinet began by welcoming the outcomes of the third Qatari-Japanese Strategic Dialogue, highlighting the strong historical relations between the two countries, which focus on mutual understanding, trust, and cooperation in sectors such as economy, energy, innovation, and investment in advanced industries.
According to Qatar News Agency, the Cabinet reviewed several important items on its agenda. It acknowledged the Shura Council's approval of a draft law aimed at enhancing the management of the strategic stockpile of food and consumer goods, ensuring the timely availability of these commodities in the country.
The Cabinet also approved a draft decision regulating district cooling service fees and licensing, completing the regulatory framework of Law No. 19 of 2024. This draft decision will be posted on the 'Sharek' platform for public feedback before legislative review. Additionally, the Cabinet approved the updated National Qualifications Framework to align with Qatar National Vision 2030 and modern educational and technological standards.
In terms of international cooperation, the Cabinet took steps to ratify a memorandum of understanding with the Saudi Broadcasting Authority and an agreement with international financial and investment institutions for establishing offices in Qatar. It also approved an executive program for cooperation in youth affairs with Turkmenistan for 2026-2027.
The meeting concluded with reviews of reports on participation in the 27th meeting of GCC Ministers Responsible for Environmental Affairs and the 34th Session of the International Maritime Organization Assembly, with appropriate decisions made based on these reports.
