Deir ez zor: Three people were killed and eight others injured, including five children and two women, when a landmine from wartime remnants exploded in Al Kharatah area of Syria's southern Deir Ez Zor desert, the Syrian Civil Defense reported.

According to Qatar News Agency, the proliferation of landmines and unexploded ordnance remains a leading cause of civilian casualties in Syria, despite ongoing efforts by the Ministry of Defense and engineering teams to remove and neutralize these hazards.
