Ankara: Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan announced Wednesday the discovery of the black box of the crashed military aircraft, affirming that a probe into the cause of the crash has been launched. Erdogan stated that 19 of the 20 victims of the cargo plane have been recovered, noting that efforts continue to locate the final body. He highlighted his monitoring of the field efforts regarding the crash, stressing the guarantee of uncovering the full circumstances of the incident.
According to Qatar News Agency, earlier today, Turkiye's Ministry of National Defence announced the deaths of 20 military personnel in the crash of a C-130 cargo aircraft Tuesday while returning to the country near the Azerbaijan-Georgia border. It noted that Georgian search-and-rescue teams had located the wreckage and that the cause of the incident is being determined following technical inspections by the specialized Turkish team.
