Barcelona Extends Kounde’s Contract Through 2030


Barcelona: FC Barcelona announced Friday it has extended the contract of French defender Jules Kounde through June 2030. The club confirmed that the 26-year-old has signed a three-year extension following a successful season that saw Barcelona claim three domestic titles. Among these achievements was the Copa del Rey victory, where Kounde scored the decisive goal against long-time rivals Real Madrid.



According to Qatar News Agency, Kounde originally joined Barcelona from Sevilla in 2022 as a center-back. Over time, he has transitioned into a crucial role at right-back, showcasing his versatility and importance to the team. Notably, in 2024, Kounde distinguished himself as the most active player internationally, participating in 70 matches for both club and country. His consistent performance is further highlighted by his streak of playing over 100 consecutive games from November 2023 to April 2025.
