Bahrain Responds to Regional Tensions and Internal Developments

Manama: Bahraini daily newspapers today focused on local events that happened over the past 24 hours. HM King ratified Law (23) of 2026, following approvals from the Shura and Representatives Councils. Additionally, HM King received cables affirming loyalty and support from Bahraini families.

According to Bahrain News Agency, a telephone call was held between HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister and HH the Crown Prince of the State of Kuwait. The Bahrain Defence Force General Command reported that air defence systems intercepted missiles and drones targeting civilian sites. The Deputy Prime Minister chaired the 305th Ministerial Committee meeting, while the Commander-in-Chief received the SCH President.

The Foreign Minister offered condolences on the passing of the former Yemeni President and attended the Italian Embassy's celebration of the Italian Republic's National Day. The Justice Minister met with the Ukrainian Ambassador to discuss bilateral relations.

Bahrain condemned continued Iranian terrorist attacks on Kuwait and the targeting of civilian and vital facilities. Bahrain addressed a letter to the UN, affirming Iran's targeting of GPIC facilities as a clear violation of international law and holds Iran fully responsible. Bahrain welcomed the US President's announcement of an agreement to halt attacks in Lebanon as a positive step towards de-escalation.

Fifteen individuals were arrested in connection with an IRGC-linked network. Discussions between Bahrain and UAE Central Bank Governors focused on enhancing financial and monetary cooperation. Regional support was evident as Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, UAE, Qatar, Jordan, and Lebanon condemned the attacks on Bahrain and Kuwait, affirming solidarity with the affected nations.
