Bahrain Condemns Renewed Iranian Attacks on Bahrain, Kuwait

Manama: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Bahrain strongly condemned Iran's renewed attacks on Bahrain and Kuwait, which occurred early this morning with the launch of seven ballistic missiles towards their territories.

According to Qatar News Agency, the ministry stated that the attack was a violation of the sovereignty of both countries, breaching the Charter of the United Nations and international norms. It defied international legitimacy resolutions, including United Nations Security Council Resolution 2817 (2026), which condemned Iran's aggressive actions and attempts to close the Strait of Hormuz or obstruct international navigation through it. The ministry highlighted that the attack threatened the security and stability of the Gulf region and contradicted the teachings of Islam that advocate for peace and the preservation of life.

The ministry also reiterated that security and stability cannot be achieved through military aggression. It called on Iran to cease its attacks, reopen the Strait of Hormuz without restrictions, respect freedom of maritime navigation under international law, and comply with relevant Security Council resolutions. The ministry urged Iran to disclose the locations of naval mines and cooperate in their removal, establish a humanitarian corridor for civilian vessels, and facilitate the safe return of over twenty thousand stranded seafarers.

The ministry emphasized Bahrain's commitment to peace and stability in the region, warning that its patience should not be mistaken for complacency. It stressed that defending Bahrain's sovereignty and security remains a priority, and the Kingdom will take all necessary measures to protect its people, with the support of its allies.
