Baku: Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and Pakistani Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif held discussions in Baku on Monday focused on strengthening bilateral relations.
According to Qatar News Agency, the discussions covered a wide range of topics, including expanding trade and investment, enhancing cooperation in the energy sector, and joining efforts to address climate change. The leaders also talked about deepening defense cooperation and enhancing cultural exchanges between the two nations.
In line with these discussions, Pakistan and Azerbaijan signed multiple agreements aimed at enhancing bilateral cooperation in fields such as trade, energy, tourism, and education. A significant development from the meeting was the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) involving the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan Republic (SOCAR), Pakistan's Frontier Works Organization (FWO), and Pakistan State Oil Company Limited (PSO). This MoU is focused on cooperation in the Machike-Thallian-Tarujabba White Oil Pipeline Project.
