Authorities Start Investigations into Collapse of a Building in Doha

The Ministry of Interior (MoI) said that investigation teams have begun working to uncover the causes of the collapse of a building in Bin Durham area of Central Doha.

Director of Public Relations Department in MoI Brigadier Abdullah Khalifa Al Muftah told QNA that the investigation authorities have begun procedures to uncover the causes of the building’s collapse, which occurred at around 8:30 am in the Bin Dirham area in central Doha, pointing to the continuation of search and rescue operations at the site.

Brigadier Al Muftah described that the conditions of the injured are mild to medium, pointing out that they are receiving the necessary treatment.

He also indicated that the specialized teams evacuated the families from the adjacent buildings “as a precautionary measure” and transferred them to a hotel “where they receive appropriate psychological support from the community police.

Earlier today, the Ministry of Interior announced that the civil defense and other relevant authorities rescued seven persons after a four-storied building in Bin Durham area of Central Doha collapsed, while one person who was inside the building died.
