Doha: The Attorneys’ Admission Committee, chaired by HE Minister of Justice and Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs Ibrahim bin Ali Al Mohannadi, convened on Thursday at its permanent headquarters in the Ministry of Justice. At the outset of the meeting, HE the Minister welcomed the new members of the committee following the issuance of ministerial decision No. 10 of 2026 to reconstitute it.
According to Qatar News Agency, the Minister emphasized the significance of the topics entrusted to the committee, which include developing the legal profession and expediting the resolution of new registration applications. This initiative reflects the role played by the legal profession in supporting the vision of the wise leadership to strengthen effective justice and advance the Qatari legal system. The legal efforts undertaken by lawyers serve as pivotal support to the judiciary.
During the meeting, the committee reviewed topics on its agenda, including the restructuring of its subcommittees. Eight new lawyers took the legal oath, and applications from several business owners to register as practicing lawyers were considered. Additionally, the committee addressed requests from new lawyers whose training period had ended and approved the minutes of previous subcommittees.
The committee also reviewed requests to transfer the registration of lawyers to the register of those practicing before the Court of Cassation and approved requests from lawyers under training. Organizational topics and controls for the legal profession’s work were discussed, including a proposal to develop tests for lawyers applying for registration and practicing the profession. Appropriate decisions were made regarding these matters.
Furthermore, the committee emphasized the importance for participants of the 16th mandatory program for lawyers in training to adhere to the approved program. This is part of the specialized legal training plan for 2026, which requires discipline in attending lectures according to the announced schedule, as stipulated in the training regulations of the Center for Legal and Judicial Studies.
