Doha: The Public Works Authority (Ashghal), in collaboration with the Qatar Scientific Club, has successfully concluded the fourth edition of the Engineer of the Future program. This initiative, which spanned two weeks, attracted the participation of 36 high school students, reflecting Ashghal's dedication to nurturing young talent and enhancing national competencies early on.

According to Qatar News Agency, the program is part of Ashghal's broader effort to engage the community in initiatives that build a knowledgeable and skilled generation of engineers. Throughout the first week, students were immersed in field visits to various departments within Ashghal, such as Engineering Services, Quality and Safety, Sewerage Network Operation and Maintenance, Building Projects, and Information Systems. These visits included interactive tours and hands-on workshops, providing students with a tangible understanding of engineering work in these sectors.

In the program's second week, participants relocated to the Qatar Scientific Club headquarters. Here, they participated in technical workshops and practical training sessions, working in groups to develop prototype models of applied engineering projects. This phase aimed to bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical application, emphasizing teamwork and real-world problem-solving.

The program concluded with a project showcase evaluated by a jury of engineers and experts, who assessed the models based on creativity, feasibility, and execution potential. The panel commended the students for their innovative approaches and dedication to the projects.

The Public Works Authority lauded the program's success, recognizing the high level of student engagement and the productive partnership with the Qatar Scientific Club. Ashghal reaffirmed its commitment to supporting educational initiatives that foster a knowledge-based and innovative society.
