Doha: Vice President of the Qatar Police Sports Federation (QPSF) Colonel Ahmed bin Hamad Al-Thani praised the admission of the Federation as a member of the Qatar Olympic Committee (QOC).

According to Qatar News Agency, in a press statement following the QOC's General Assembly's approval of the admission of the QPSF and the Qatar Military Sports Association as members, he said that this step represents an achievement reflecting the advanced standing of the QPSF and its vital role in supporting the sports movement and promoting a culture of physical activity among Ministry of Interior personnel through the organization of various sporting activities and championships.

The QPSF Vice President emphasized that this membership marks a significant milestone in the QPSF's journey and reflects the Ministry of Interior's ongoing commitment to developing human resources and enhancing the physical fitness and readiness of its personnel. This, in turn, contributes to strengthening their efficiency in performing their security duties effectively and supports their participation in various sporting events.

Since its establishment, the QPSF has been keen to diversify its sports programs and activities and organize championships and competitions that contribute to raising the level of physical fitness and instilling the values of teamwork and discipline, which positively impacts professional performance and field readiness, he noted.

He added that this membership represents a step towards strengthening integration with the sports system in the State of Qatar, and opens broader horizons for developing performance, building partnerships, and actively participating in Olympic events and programs.

He affirmed the QPSF's commitment to continuing its work to advance sports, in line with the aspirations of the State of Qatar and its pioneering role in the field.
