Cairo: Senior Arab and Russian officials met today at the headquarters of the Arab League in Cairo to prepare for the first Arab-Russian summit, scheduled to take place on October 15 in Moscow.
According to Qatar News Agency, the Arab League stated that the meeting focused on finalizing arrangements for the summit, as well as the 7th session of the Arab-Russian Cooperation Forum at the ministerial level. Participants agreed on the final drafts of key outcome documents, including the summit’s joint declaration and a work plan to implement the principles and objectives of the Arab-Russian Cooperation Forum for the period 2026 to 2028.
Khaled bin Mohammed Manzlawiy, Assistant Secretary-General and Head of the International Political Affairs Sector at the Arab League, highlighted the importance of the summit, citing Russia’s status as a major power and its supportive positions on many Arab issues in international forums. He added that the upcoming events offer an opportunity to further strengthen Arab-Russian relations in economic and cultural fields.
