Doha: The Arab League expressed concern over the escalating tension in western Libya, especially after the mobilization of military forces near the capital, Tripoli, affirming that it is closely monitoring the situation there.
According to Qatar News Agency, in a statement Tuesday, the Arab League warned that the continuation of this approach could expose the country to the risk of slipping back into a cycle of conflict, with repercussions for Libya’s security and unity.
It called on all parties to de-escalate and resolve differences through dialogue, stressing that the use of violence will only deepen divisions.
The Arab League also urged all parties to engage seriously in negotiation processes, affirming its readiness to continue advancing the Libyan-Libyan dialogue in a manner that contributes to enhancing stability, in cooperation with regional and international partners.
