Arab League Prepares for Landmark Arab-Russian Summit in Moscow


Doha: The Arab League General Secretariat convened a coordination meeting at the level of permanent representatives of member states to discuss preparations for the first Arab-Russian Summit, scheduled to be held in Moscow on October 15.



According to Qatar News Agency, the meeting involved briefing the permanent representatives on the latest developments regarding the summit’s arrangements, including discussions on the draft final communique and the action plan expected to be adopted during the summit.



HE Ambassador Khalid Manzlawiy, Assistant Secretary-General for International Political Affairs at the Arab League, stated that the first Arab-Russian Summit represents a significant development in Arab-Russian relations. He emphasized the potential for the summit to open new avenues for cooperation across political, economic, and social fields.



Ambassador Manzlawiy highlighted that the summit reflects a shared determination to strengthen the strategic partnership between Arab states and Russia, based on mutual respect and common interests. He added that the summit’s outcomes could advance cooperation in a manner that fulfills the aspirations of the peoples from both sides.



The permanent representatives of Arab states praised the efforts of the Republic of Iraq and the Arab League General Secretariat in ensuring the summit’s success. They expressed optimism about further strengthening Arab-Russian cooperation to enhance mutual interests.
