Doha: The Arab League condemned Israel's maneuvers and delays in implementing full withdrawal from southern Lebanon, as stipulated in the ceasefire agreement, which was extended until February 18.
According to Qatar News Agency, the Arab League emphasized in a statement today that Israeli withdrawal must be complete and on the agreed date. It pointed out that any delay in this matter would be a deliberate attempt to provoke a crisis, and that the parties guaranteeing the agreement must quickly exert sufficient pressure on Israel to adhere to its commitments.
The statement also expressed full solidarity with Lebanon's clear and firm stance in rejecting the continued Israeli occupation of any points after the withdrawal process is completed, or any further postponement of withdrawal under unacceptable pretexts.
