Arab League and India Engage in Talks on Regional Crises and Economic Collaboration

New delhi: Arab League Secretary-General Ahmed Aboul Gheit met with Indian Foreign Minister S. Jaishankar in New Delhi to discuss shared concerns and regional crises, including the Palestinian issue and the implementation of the second phase of the peace plan. Aboul Gheit stressed the urgent need for continuous humanitarian aid to Gaza and swift progress toward reconstruction.

According to Qatar News Agency, the discussions also addressed the situations in Sudan, Somalia, Yemen, Libya, and Syria, reaffirming the League's commitment to peace and its stance against terrorism in line with international law. Aboul Gheit expressed gratitude to India for organizing the Arab-India ministerial meeting and high-level officials' session, highlighting the significance of Arab-India cooperation.

Trade between India and Arab states reached $240 billion in 2025, reflecting strong economic ties under the 2008 and 2013 memoranda of understanding.
