Arab-Islamic Unity Emerges in Response to Israeli Aggression on Qatar


Doha: The Israeli aggression against Qatar has prompted a unified response from Arab and Islamic nations, calling for joint efforts to curb expansionist policies and ensure regional security. HE Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council of Yemen, Dr. Rashad Mohammed Al-Alimi, urged a comprehensive Arab and Islamic approach to counter these challenges.



According to Qatar News Agency, multiple leaders have voiced their support for Qatar. HE President Azali Assoumani of Comoros emphasized that the aggression is not just against Qatar but threatens the entire Arab and Islamic nation. Similarly, HE President Abdelmadjid Tebboune of Algeria stated that the attack undermines regional values and security. HE Deputy Prime Minister of Turkmenistan, Rashid Meredov, described the actions as a violation of international law and expressed condolences for the victims.



Additional support came from HE President Ahmed Al Sharaa of Syria, who reiterated solidarity with Qatar. HH Deputy Prime Minister for Defense Affairs of Oman, Shihab bin Tarik Al Said, highlighted the need for action at the United Nations level to hold Israel accountable.



Leaders from Kuwait, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, and Gambia also expressed their condemnation of the aggression, emphasizing it as a threat to regional peace and stability. The UAE underscored the importance of international law and state sovereignty in addressing the situation, while Tunisia reaffirmed its support for Qatar’s sovereignty and security.



The Emergency Arab-Islamic Summit held in Doha further solidified this support. The summit, convened at the invitation of HH the Amir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani, was attended by leaders and representatives from across the Gulf and Arab world. They collectively condemned the Israeli attack and discussed strategies to address the repercussions of this aggression.



Qatar’s Permanent Representative to the UN in Geneva, Dr. Hind Abdulrahman Al Muftah, condemned the attack during an interactive dialogue at the UN Human Rights Council (HRC60). She highlighted the attack’s violation of international law and its impact on peace efforts. The UNHRC has scheduled an emergency debate to further address the incident.



These developments underscore a significant moment of unity among Arab and Islamic nations, as they rally to support Qatar in the face of external aggression, emphasizing the need for collective security and diplomatic efforts to maintain regional stability.
