Arab Foreign Ministers Convene in Istanbul Amid Rising Middle East Tensions

Istanbul: An emergency meeting of Arab foreign ministers began Friday in Istanbul, Turkiye, with the participation of Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan. The meeting focused on developments in the Middle East, particularly the escalating tensions between Israel and Iran.

According to Qatar News Agency, the ministers engaged in a closed-door discussion session. This session is expected to be followed by a press conference where they will present the key findings and recommendations regarding the regional escalation. The emergency meeting is taking place alongside the meeting of foreign ministers of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), set to commence Saturday in Istanbul and continue through Sunday.

Since last Friday, Israel has initiated an offensive against Iran, targeting nuclear facilities, missile bases, military leaders, and nuclear scientists. In response, Tehran has launched ballistic missiles and drones deep into the occupied territories, marking the largest direct confrontation between the two nations.
