Arab Cup FIFA Qatar 2025: Jordan Eyes Quarterfinal Spot, Kuwait Seeks Vital Win

Jordan: Jordan will aim to secure early qualification to the quarterfinals when they face Kuwait on Saturday at Ahmad Bin Ali Stadium in the second round of Group C at the FIFA Arab Cup Qatar 2025, which runs through December 18 with 16 teams competing. Jordan opened their campaign with a 2-1 win over the UAE, topping the group with three points. Kuwait, meanwhile, earned a point after a 1-1 draw with Egypt.

According to Qatar News Agency, a win for Jordan would guarantee their place in the next round, regardless of the outcome of their final group match against Egypt on Dec. 9. Led by Moroccan coach Jamal Sellami, Jordan will look to build on their strong start, with standout performances expected from Ali Alwan, Yazan Al Naimat, and goalkeeper Yazid Abu Layla.

Kuwait, under Portuguese coach Helio Sousa, is determined to boost its qualification hopes with a win, knowing that anything less could jeopardize their chances. After a promising display against Egypt, where they led before conceding a late equalizer, Kuwait will rely on key players like defender Fahad Al Hajeri, Yousef Nasser, and Mohammad Daham to deliver a crucial result.
