Amir’s Visit to Oman Strengthens Bilateral Ties and Cooperation

Muscat: HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani concluded a significant state visit to the Sultanate of Oman, marked by a fraternal meeting with HM Sultan Haitham bin Tariq at Al Baraka Palace in Muscat. The discussions highlighted the historical relations between the two nations, with both leaders expressing their commitment to furthering these ties for the development of their peoples.

According to Qatar News Agency, Al-Watan newspaper reported that HH the Amir expressed his satisfaction with the visit, which focused on enhancing the already close fraternal and historical relations between Qatar and Oman. The visit was well-received by the people of both countries, reflecting a mutual interest in deepening cooperation across all sectors.

Al-Arab newspaper emphasized that the visit underscored the depth of mutual understanding and respect between the two nations, aiming to bolster economic, investment, and political cooperation. The discussions during the visit are expected to strengthen bilateral ties, promote economic growth, and diversify economic partnerships, aligning with the aspirations of both countries.

The visit also led to the signing of three executive programs and two memoranda of understanding, expanding cooperation in areas such as youth, sports, development, and education. This move reflects the political will of both leaderships to achieve integration and leverage promising opportunities through shared experiences.

The Peninsula highlighted the importance of the visit in enhancing fraternal ties, noting that it sets the stage for elevating the partnership between Qatar and Oman across various fields. The memoranda of understanding and executive programs signed during the visit cover cooperation in sports, youth, culture, education, diplomatic studies, and social development.

Additionally, Qatar and Oman reiterated their commitment to respecting Syria's sovereignty and called for support of efforts towards a comprehensive transitional process. The potential for further collaboration in trade, tourism, and industry was also a key topic of discussion, indicating a promising future for Qatar-Oman relations.
