AMAN Center Celebrates World Children’s Day with Awareness Activities

Doha: The Protection and Social Rehabilitation Center (AMAN), a branch of the Qatar Foundation for Social Work, marked World Children's Day, celebrated annually on November 20, by hosting a series of awareness workshops at the OliOli Children's Museum in Katara Cultural Village.

According to Qatar News Agency, the event was organized in collaboration with the Ministry of Education and Higher Education and included participation from various national bodies and international organizations involved in child protection, such as the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) and the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO).

Acting Executive Director of AMAN, Fadhel bin Mohammed Al Kaabi, stated that the center's involvement in the celebration aims to instill the concepts of rights and responsibilities in students. He noted that Aman's workshops featured educational and recreational activities, including a lecture on protection and children's rights, interactive competitions, and the distribution of prizes to participants.

Al Kaabi emphasized the importance of focusing on children as the future generation, highlighting the center's commitment to fostering good morals, skill development, creativity, and providing a safe environment that respects children's rights. He also mentioned the center's efforts to promote social responsibility through initiatives supporting children's well-being and protection.

Bakhita Al Ghayathin, Director of Community Awareness at AMAN, confirmed the dedication of the AMAN workshops team to participating in local and international events by delivering lectures on social protection and conducting interactive workshops for different age groups. The objective is to convey the center's message of reducing violence in all forms and ensuring a safe environment for children.

Hanan Al Ali, Director of the Office of Communication and Media at the center, stressed AMAN's commitment to strengthening community partnerships, particularly on international occasions related to women and children. She underscored the importance of raising awareness about children's rights and responsibilities, recognizing that children are the leaders of the future and that families, schools, and the community are partners in their proper upbringing.

It is noteworthy that the AMAN Center focuses on protecting women, children, and victims of family disintegration, organizing educational and interactive events annually on international occasions to promote community partnership, and support protection and prevention efforts.
