Al wakrah: Al Wakrah defeated Al Ahli 3-1 in their match Friday, as part of the second round of the Qatar Volleyball League for men, which is being held at the Qatar Volleyball Association hall with the participation of 10 clubs.
According to Qatar News Agency, Al Wakrah secured the victory with set scores of 22-25, 25-12, 25-22, and 25-21, bringing their total to 31 points and maintaining their lead in the standings. Al Ahli remain in sixth place with 16 points.
In another match, Al Rayyan secured a comfortable victory over Al Gharafa, winning in straight sets (25-29, 25-19, 15-12). This win brings Al Rayyan's points tally to 25, temporarily placing them in third position. Al Gharafa remains in ninth place, second to last, with 4 points.
The second round of matches continues on Saturday, with two games. The first will see Police, currently in fourth place with 21 points, take on Al Khor, in seventh place with 22 points. The second match will feature Qatar SC, in fifth place with 16 points, against Al Shamal, in eighth place with 6 points.
It is worth noting that both Al Rayyan and Al Wakrah will participate in the West Asian Men's Volleyball Championship, which will be held in Kuwait from February 4 to 14. Al Rayyan, the defending champions, will open their campaign on February 4 against Oman's Majees Club, while Al Wakrah will play their first match on the same day against Bahrain's Al Ahli Club in Group B.
