Al Raya Praises Qatar TV as a Platform for Responsible Journalism


Doha: Al Raya newspaper affirmed Qatar Television’s commitment to continuing its successful journey with the same momentum and to maintaining its media standing by providing purposeful content that reflects the pulse of the nation and the concerns of its citizens, while also keeping pace with technological and professional transformations.



According to Qatar News Agency, the paper noted that for 55 years since its launch, Qatar Television has remained a free platform for purposeful media, defending the causes of Qatar and the Arab and Islamic nations. The paper added that Qatar Television has witnessed major events in the history of this generous nation, expressed the pulse of the country and its people, and contributed to nurturing minds and shaping ideas, relying on rich cultural programming and meaningful content. From the beginning, it was keen to keep up with all developments and never isolate itself from reality.



The editorial highlighted that the television broadcast began on Aug. 15, 1970, noting that it is a day engraved in the memory of Qatari and Arab viewers, as it marked the birth of a new Arab channel reflecting the State of Qatar and the aspirations of its people, their present, past, future, ambitions, traditions, and heritage.



The paper also pointed to the statement of Sheikh Khalid bin Abdulaziz bin Jassim Al Thani, acting CEO of the Qatar Media Corporation, who stressed that Qatar Television has been progressing steadily for 55 years and continues to maintain its position as a national media platform that reflects the state’s identity while keeping up with technological and professional changes to serve its mission toward society.
