Head of the Sudanese Transitional Military Council General Abdel Fattah Al Burhan expressed his confidence that Sudan will overcome the current difficult period and maintain its unity in a way that enables a safe transition to a civilian rule.
Giving a speech to mark Eid Al Fitr, Al Burhan said that Sudan was severely hurt as a result of the recent clashes, but that there was still hope for the great people of Sudan to overcome this setback.
Meanwhile, Sudan’s Rapid Support Forces said that they agreed to a humanitarian ceasefire for 72 hours, based on agreements with international, regional, and local parties. The ceasefire started Friday morning at 6 AM local time in Sudan. They added that the ceasefire come out of respect for Eid Al Fitr, and will allow the evacuation of citizens and for families to spend time together during Eid.
