Al Ahli, Al Sailiya All Set for A Crucial Showdown

Doha: Croatian coach Igor Biscan of Al Ahli expressed his hope for a win in Saturday's upcoming fixture against Al Sailiya, set to take place at Grand Hamad Stadium as part of Round 9 of the Doha Bank Stars League. According to Qatar News Agency, Biscan stressed the significance of Saturday's fixture against Al Sailiya, describing the opponent as a team that has shown improvement, having won its previous match and sharing the same points tally as Al Ahli. He noted that Al Ahli enters the game following a defeat to Al Gharafa, which necessitates a strong performance and a return to winning ways. Biscan added that the team's recent away victory over Bahrain's Al Khalidiya in the AFC Champions League 2 would serve as a morale boost, helping players regain momentum domestically. He emphasized that the squad would play collectively and exert full effort to secure the win and climb the league table. For his part, Al Sailiya coach Mirghani Al Zain highlighted the match's importance in shaping the team's league cam paign, noting that preparations are progressing well despite a congested fixture schedule. He said they understand the importance of the match and the three points in their league journey. They are not facing any absences, pointing to the return of several players from injury. Regarding the team's position in the standings, Al Zain affirmed that the objective remains to move away from the bottom ranks. He added they have no other option and their goal is clear, to leave the relegation zone, explaining that they succeeded in climbing out of last place in the previous round, and hope to continue progressing and not return there. Al Sailiya currently sits ninth in the league table with six points, ahead of Umm Salal in tenth and Al Ahli in eleventh, based on goal difference.
