AFC Concludes Elite Referee Instructors Certification 2024 in Kuala Lumpur.


Kuala Lumpur: The Asian Football Confederation (AFC) has successfully concluded the AFC Elite Referee Instructors Certification 2024 in the vibrant city of Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The comprehensive five-day course attracted 22 refereeing technical instructors from 15 Member Associations and 8 refereeing fitness instructors from 6 Member Associations, all participating in activities aimed at elevating officiating standards throughout the continent.

According to Qatar News Agency, the program was strategically designed to fortify the skills of its members, underscoring the AFC’s dedication to maintaining its status as a model confederation. The course commenced with participants receiving an overview of its objectives, followed by classroom sessions focused on training methodology under the tutelage of industry experts.

Participants engaged in practical sessions designed to hone their on-field skills by simulating match incidents and examining past games through the Refereeing Performance Management Platform
. This tool enables a detailed review and assessment of officiating performance. Additionally, participants returned to the classroom for further technical evaluations covering match preparation, debriefing, and technical topic presentations.

The program concluded with participants gaining insights into the latest amendments to the Laws of the Game and refreshing their decision-making skills through video-based tests. They also participated in discussions to review their learning and outline future goals, fostering a culture of continuous improvement in refereeing standards.
