Dead Sea – Together – The President of the State of Palestine, Mahmoud Abbas, the King of Jordan, King Abdullah II, and the President of the Arab Republic of Egypt, Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi, held a tripartite summit today, Tuesday, at the King Hussein Bin Talal Convention Center in the Dead Sea region, on the sidelines of the ‘Humanitarian Response Conference.’ Emergency for Gaza’, in the presence of the Palestinian, Egyptian and Jordanian delegations participating in the conference.
The three leaders stressed the necessity of immediately stopping the Israeli aggression against our people, withdrawing the occupation forces from the entire Gaza Strip, and accelerating the introduction of aid to avoid the dangers of real famine facing our people as a result of the occupation’s control of all crossings in the Strip and their closure, and that the Gaza Strip is an integral part of the Palestinian state. It falls under its responsibility and management, and it is not possible to accept or deal with the occupation’s p
lans to dismiss it.
The leaders stressed their rejection of the illegal Israeli measures that undermine the two-state solution, the continued construction and expansion of colonies in the occupied West Bank, including East Jerusalem, the seizure of lands, the demolition of homes, the displacement of Palestinians from their homes, and the withholding of Palestinian tax funds and the need for their immediate release.
The leaders stressed that a just, comprehensive and lasting peace constitutes a strategic choice and a necessity for regional and international peace and security, and all efforts must be united to achieve it, stressing the necessity of preserving the existing historical and legal status in Jerusalem and its Islamic and Christian sanctities, and rejecting all practices that aim to harm this status.
The three leaders also stressed the importance of the international community continuing to support the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA), and the necessity of prov
iding the financial support it needs, to maintain its ability to provide vital services to Palestinian refugees in accordance with its UN mandate.
The leaders affirmed their keenness to strengthen the strategic relations that bring together the State of Palestine, the Arab Republic of Egypt, and the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, and to intensify the level of continuous coordination between the three sister countries regarding the developments and challenges facing the Palestinian issue, and in an effort to achieve all the legitimate rights, hopes and aspirations of the Palestinian people.
King Abdullah II and President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi affirmed ‘the centrality of the Palestinian issue, the first Arab issue, and the firm positions of Jordan and Egypt in supporting the Palestinian people and their just and legitimate rights, foremost of which is their right to embody their independent, sovereign state on the borders of June 4, 1967, with East Jerusalem as its capital.’ ‘In accordance with international law
