Bulandshahr: At least eight people were killed and 43 others injured when a container truck collided with a tractor carrying devotees in the northern Indian state of Uttar Pradesh.
According to Qatar News Agency, the victims included a child and two women. Bulandshahr district police chief Dinesh Kumar Singh reported that three of the injured are in critical condition and are on ventilator support.
Traffic accidents are frequent in India due to overloading, poor infrastructure, and reckless driving. In 2024, more than 53,000 people were killed in approximately 125,873 road accidents, according to the Indian Ministry of Road Transport and Highways.
