7th Qatar Tennis Federation, Qatar Rail Open Championship Concludes Successfully.


Doha: The 7th Qatar Tennis Federation and Qatar Rail Open Championship, hosted at the Khalifa International Tennis and Squash Complex, concluded after 10 days of intense competition, featuring 280 male and female players.

According to Qatar News Agency, British player Akash De Silva triumphed in the men’s singles category, securing the title, while Belarusian player Aleksey Smirano finished as the runner-up. In the women’s singles, Alexandra Prtnicek emerged victorious, with Tunisian player Sarah Ben Aziza taking the second spot.

The men’s doubles title was claimed by the duo of Filipino John Anthony Alcoceba and British Akash De Silva, while the Qatari team of Ghanem Al-Sulaiti and Musa Shanan finished in second place. In the girls under-12 competition, Spanish player Mila Suleiman secured first place, while Tunisian Lina Ramadan came second.

In the boys under-12 doubles category, the Qatari duo of Abdullah Al Thani and Faris Mohammed clinched the top spot, while their compatriots Abdulrahman Al Naama and
Mohammed Samara took second place. Danish player Gabriel Oznel won the boys under-10 singles, with Turkish player Taim Allah Hamida finishing as the runner-up.

Syrian player Maha Al Rayes emerged victorious in the girls under-10 competition, with Qatari player Latifa Al Hitmi taking second place. In the boys under-12 singles, Qatari Abdullah Al Thani claimed first place, while Austrian Benedict Kinsberg secured second.

In the pioneers category, British Omar Obregon won first place, while Lebanese Ziad Samira finished in second place. Tariq Zainal, Secretary General of the Qatar Tennis, Squash, Padel, and Badminton Federation, commended the high technical level displayed by the players and expressed satisfaction with the collaboration with Rail, which sponsored the event.

Zainal highlighted the company’s commitment to sports development in Qatar and its role in fostering community growth. He, along with Mohammed Al-Jaidah, Marketing Manager at Rail, awarded the winners in the presence of numerous tennis ent
husiasts.
