Doha: The organizing committee of the 11th Little Muhaddith competition, jointly organized by the Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs and the Ministry of Education and Higher Education (MOEHE), has announced that 7,848 students and parents have been shortlisted for participation.
According to Qatar News Agency, the shortlisted participants were confirmed online in preparation for the upcoming tests scheduled for mid-month. Initially, the competition attracted 12,246 applicants from 437 schools, but only 7,848 competitors advanced to the next stage. These participants include 3,387 male students, 3,215 female students, and 1,246 parents.
Jassim Abdullah Al Ali, Director of the Department of Call and Religious Guidance, emphasized that all participating schools are well-prepared for the competition. He outlined that students must meet specific prerequisites, including memorizing Prophetic hadiths as part of school activities like broadcasts or prayer reflections.
Al Ali further mentioned that up to 17 students per school were registered, along with an additional 3 students, to encourage participation in the memorization of Prophetic hadiths. The competition has garnered interest from both male and female students, as well as parents.
Students from various age groups, along with their parents, are participating in the competition at public and private schools across the state. This initiative aims to strengthen communication between parents, students, and schools.
Winners in the top positions across all eight levels will receive cash prizes ranging from QR 200 to QR 2,500, depending on their level and degree of excellence. The prizes are divided into categories for males, females, and parents. Additionally, prizes for students and those receiving shields range from QR 4,000 to QR 6,000.
