Jerusalem: Some 70,000 worshippers performed Isha and Taraweeh prayers on the 17th day of the holy month of Ramadan at Al Aqsa Mosque, amid strict military measures imposed by the Israeli occupation authorities.

According to Qatar News Agency, the Islamic Endowments Department in occupied Jerusalem reported that approximately 70,000 worshippers performed Isha and Taraweeh prayers at Al Aqsa Mosque, the majority of whom were residents of the Holy City and from within the 1948 territories.

The occupation authorities prevent thousands of citizens from the West Bank governorates from reaching Jerusalem to perform prayers at Al Aqsa Mosque.
