Jerusalem: Seventy thousand Palestinians performed the Isha and Taraweeh prayers Sunday, on the 16th night of Ramadan at the Al-Aqsa Mosque, despite strict military measures imposed by the Israeli occupation authorities on access to the mosque.

According to Qatar News Agency, the Islamic waqf department in Jerusalem stated that most of the worshipers are city residents or came from the 1948-territories.

The occupation authorities prevent thousands of citizens from the West Bank governorates from reaching Jerusalem to pray at Al-Aqsa Mosque.
