6-Magnitude Earthquake Strikes Indonesia’s North Sumatra

North Sumatra: A 6-magnitude earthquake struck North Sumatra, Indonesia, on Sunday.

According to Qatar News Agency, the German Research Center for Geosciences (GFZ) reported that the epicenter of the earthquake was at a depth of 89 kilometers.

There have been no reports of casualties or damage from the earthquake so far.

Earthquakes regularly hit various parts of Indonesia since the country lies on the Pacific 'Ring of Fire', where several tectonic plates meet and cause frequent volcanic and seismic activities.
