6.0-Magnitude Earthquake Strikes Mugla in Western Turkiye

Mugla: An earthquake measuring 6.0 magnitude on the Richter scale struck off the coast of Datca in Mugla province, southwest Turkiye, on Wednesday.

According to Qatar News Agency, a statement by the Turkish Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD) indicated that the earthquake occurred at a depth of 20.41 km, with its epicenter located approximately 155 km from Datca.

There were no reports of casualties or material damage as a result of the earthquake.

On Feb. 6, 2023, a violent 7.8-magnitude earthquake struck the border regions between southern Turkiye and northern Syria, killing more than 50,000 people, injuring over 100,000, and leveling entire cities.
