5.3-Magnitude Earthquake Strikes Mexico’s Oaxaca State

Doha: An earthquake measuring 5.3 on the Richter scale struck the state of Oaxaca in southern Mexico Thursday.

According to Qatar News Agency, the earthquake occurred 23 km from the city of Salina Cruz, at a depth of 62.2 km, the US Geological Survey (USGS) reported. There were no immediate reports of damage or casualties.

In September 2017, a powerful earthquake struck Mexico, shaking Mexico City and the neighboring states of Morelos and Puebla, resulting in 370 deaths.
