5.2-Magnitude Earthquake Strikes Tonga

Tonga: An earthquake measuring 5.2 on the Richter scale struck Monday the island nation of Tonga in the South Pacific. The seismic event was detected by the United States Geological Survey (USGS), which reported that the epicenter was located 643 km from Houma and occurred at a depth of 552 km.

According to Qatar News Agency, there have been no reports of casualties or damage from the earthquake so far. Tonga, an archipelago of 176 islands, is situated on the Pacific Ring of Fire, making it susceptible to frequent seismic activities. The earthquake serves as a reminder of the region's vulnerability to natural events due to its geographical location.
