5.1-Magnitude Earthquake Strikes Indonesia’s Java Island

Doha: A 5.1-magnitude earthquake struck the Indonesian island of Java on Tuesday.

According to Qatar News Agency, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG), the earthquake's epicenter was centered 319 kilometers west of Pacitan, East Java province, at a depth of 10 kilometers.

There have been no reports of casualties or material damage.

Indonesia is prone to frequent seismic activity due to its location along the Pacific Ring of Fire.
