Doha: An earthquake measuring 5.1 magnitude on the Richter scale struck the Bay of Bengal off the eastern coast of India on Tuesday.
According to Qatar News Agency, the epicenter of the earthquake was at a depth of 91 kilometers, as reported by the National Center for Seismology in India.
There have been no reports on casualties or material damage.
In recent decades, the Indian subcontinent has experienced some of the world's most violent earthquakes.
