5.0-Magnitude Earthquake Hits Southern Philippines

Doha: A 5.0-magnitude earthquake struck on Tuesday Davao del Sur province in the southern Philippines. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (DOST) reported that the epicenter of the earthquake was located 63 km from the city of Matanao in the province, at a depth of 150 km.

According to Qatar News Agency, so far, no human or material losses have been reported as a result of the earthquake.

The Philippines is exposed to volcanic and seismic activity due to its location on the Pacific Ring of Fire.
