The 47th session of the General Assembly of the Arab Red Cross and Red Crescent Organization (Arco) kicked off Monday in Doha, Qatar with the participation of the Syrian Arab Red Crescent President Khaled Hboubati and the Secretary-General of the Organization, Khaled Arsousi.
Participants in the session will discuss the response of Arco and its members to the devastating earthquake that struck the region last February in addition to discussing the humanitarian situation in the Arab countries that have been affected by disasters.
The two-day conference is attended by heads and secretaries of the Arab Red Crescent and Red Cross bodies, associations and organizations, while the Assembly’s agenda includes electing a Secretary-General for Arco and discussing reports related to its work.
