Nato: An earthquake measuring 4 on the Richter scale struck the Dead Sea region of Jordan: The Jordan Seismological Observatory (JSO), affiliated with the Jordanian Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, recorded the earthquake Thursday at a magnitude of 4 on the Richter scale and a depth of 17 km.

According to Qatar News Agency, the Dead Sea and Gulf of Aqaba region in southern Jordan experiences ongoing seismic activity that often goes unnoticed. However, the Aqaba earthquake of November 1995, measuring 7.3 on the Richter scale, remains the most powerful in the country's history.
