According to Qatar News Agency, the Dead Sea and Gulf of Aqaba region in southern Jordan experiences ongoing seismic activity that often goes unnoticed. However, the Aqaba earthquake of November 1995, measuring 7.3 on the Richter scale, remains the most powerful in the country's history.
