4.9-Magnitude Earthquake Struck Aegean Sea in Western Turkiye

Aegean Sea: A 4.9-magnitude earthquake struck the Aegean Sea in western Turkiye on Monday.

According to Qatar News Agency, a statement from the Turkish Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD) indicated that the quake's epicenter was located in the Aegean Sea, with a depth of 7 km.

There have been no reports of casualties or material damage following the incident. This follows a previous earthquake of 4.1-magnitude that affected the same area on Sunday, also without any injuries or damage reported.

On February 6, 2023, Turkiye faced a catastrophic earthquake that resulted in over 50,000 fatalities, thousands of injuries, and substantial infrastructure damage across numerous provinces.
