4.9-Magnitude Earthquake Hit Crete Island in Greece

An earthquake measuring 4.9 magnitude on the Richter scale hit Crete Island in Greece.

Geodynamics Institute of the National Observatory of Athens stated that the epicenter of the quake occurred 7 km from Sougia village, at a depth of 10.7 km.

No casualties or material damage were reported.

Crete Island is often subjected to shakes and earthquakes of medium strength because of its location on an active seismic line.
