Balikesir: A magnitude 4.8 earthquake struck the Sindirgi district of Balikesir in western Turkiye.

According to Qatar News Agency, the Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD) said in a statement that the earthquake had a magnitude of 4.8 and was at a depth of 7 kilometers below the Earth's surface.

A 6.1-magnitude earthquake struck Sindirgi district on Aug. 10, killing one person and injuring 29 others.
