Salta: An earthquake measuring 4.8 magnitude on the Richter scale hit Salta Province in Argentina on Thursday.

According to Qatar News Agency, the US Geological Survey said in a report that the earthquake occurred 45 kilometers from the city of San Antonio de los Cobres, and at a depth of 204.4 kilometers. There have been no reports of human or material losses so far.

On October 2023, a 5.6-magnitude earthquake struck the Argentine city of Salta, without any human or material losses reported.
