4.7 Magnitude Earthquake Strikes Western Turkiye

An earthquake measuring 4.7 on the Richter scale struck on Monday the state of Canakkale, western Turkiye.

The Turkish Disaster and Emergency Management Administration (AFAD) explained in a statement that the earthquake occurred in the Azin district at a depth of 10.23 kilometers, with no human or material losses reported so far.

On February 6, 2023, two earthquakes struck southern Turkiye and northern Syria with a magnitude of 7.7 and 7.6, followed by thousands of violent aftershocks, killing and injuring tens of thousands of civilians.
