Fakfak: An earthquake measuring 4.7 on the Richter scale struck the Fakfak region of western Indonesia Monday.
According to Qatar News Agency, the US Geological Survey reported that the epicenter was located 157 km west of Fakfak, at a depth of 12.4 km.
There have been no reports of casualties or damage so far.
Indonesia lies on the Pacific Ring of Fire, where numerous tectonic plates meet, causing frequent volcanic and seismic activity.
