Sorsogon: An earthquake measuring 4.7 on the Richter scale struck Sunday Sorsogon province in the Philippines.

According to Qatar News Agency, the US Geological Survey (USGS) stated that the tremor occurred at a depth of 10 kilometers, 120 kilometers east of the town of Barcelona in the province.

No casualties or damage have been reported. The Philippines is prone to volcanic and seismic activity due to its location along the Pacific Ring of Fire.
