4.6-Magnitude Earthquake Strikes Indonesia

Bontang: An earthquake measuring 4.6 on the Richter scale struck Indonesia on Monday. The seismic event was recorded 137 kilometers from the coastal city of Bontang, occurring at a depth of 17.1 kilometers, as reported by the US Geological Survey (USGS).

According to Qatar News Agency, there have been no reports of casualties or damage resulting from the earthquake. Indonesia is prone to frequent seismic activity due to its position along the Pacific Ring of Fire, an area known for its high number of earthquakes and volcanic eruptions.
